The past few days I have him employed with the gamal power of the shrike - for example changing upside down on a path and fighting continually when tased with a finger or other pointed object. I am inclined to declare that he enjoys combat and tasting as he is often the aggressor in his play, and could easily retreat but prefers to stay and fight it out as it offers- Several times the bird has been placed out in the sunshine in the small cage. This upsets him considerably and he never continues after beginning a cry - yet never gets frantic as he used to before Only I say. Once when brought out to the room after such an expansion he uttered a series of clear morker-like whistles. The series was twice repeated. The quality was unlike that of any shrike note I have heard in the wild. (like cutan clear not very loud morker notes.)
