Muntrangi, Meika A. 1994 journal 69 Fazenda São José da Serra Yesterday we caught only 1 Mus musculus, and 1 Akodon ! The Akodon in the first trapline going towards a marshy area. The Mus at the beginning of our trapline, in the zary forest full of bamboo. Also, a Chamaera (bird). Today we caught 6 animals: 1 Akodon in the same marshy area; 1 Akodon nigrita 1 Marmosope, 2 Delomys sublineatus in the beginning of the trapline in zary bamboo-full forest, and 1 Echimys ! up near top of the hill. Marmosope and Echimys were both cought up in trees. We photographed the Marmosope, Southern species, and Akodon nigrita, and Kayotyped the A. nigita, 1 Delomys, the Marmosope and the Echimys. The Echimys had its skin on top of two head ripped off, from hitting the trap wire mesh. Today we set up 20 mou traps: small Shermans (MNFS series) on another trail in the same area of nice forest. 20 August We finished setting up the 160 traps (60 Toma- hawks, 60 small Shermans, and 40 large Shermans). We caught 1 more Marmosope, and many more Akodon nigita. We also caught 1 Proechimys. Beside mammals, we caught also in the traps many (one day we caught 5!) birds which
