"The collection is a most valuable one and represents a number of new species
and considerable extension of ranges in many cases. A number of the new
species are in manuscript by Curator Standley and marked with "Ined". in
parenthesis. A few of the collections which are named only to genus represent
new species which will be described by Assistant Curator Steyermark and names
will be furnished you later. Three specimens of Senecio and one specimen of
another composite have been sent to specialists for determination since they
probably represent new species in their respective groups." Statement by
