Sunda Tule man among tules. Lots Am. Goldf. Few quail heard, seen 97 pair flushed from centre of swamp. Orioles & Grosbrats & Thrushes. Pair Q. Towhers still along ditch. 1 nest. Yel.-throat in tules. 5/10 Long-tail Chat seen heard in Painters, also Robin heard, Jays not singing there. Jays scarce around this year. 5/12 San Lorenzo Creek. Found rests hand-over-foot along willow line slight growth of briars under tall willows. Easy to work in. Went down with Wheeler. Buck W. showed him this place from looks of empty
