While in the backyard this morning about
-twenty cormorants flew over in a northerly
direction; my Ross's Geese called to them.
Along
March 29, 1909.
Alameda to San Francisco, California.
Along the mole this morning and evening
a few Scaup ducks were seen in the water,
also one cormorant flying. On the sand
exposed this evening were hundreds of gulls.
On the bay Larus glaucescens and Larus
californicus were seen this evening.
Yesterday I saw several Zonotrichia
leucophrys at home.
March 30, 1909.
Alameda to San Francisco, California.
This morning there were a few ducks in the water
along the mole, mostly Scaups, several Scoters, and
one Clangula clangula being seen.
Along the mole this evening there were a few
ducks, Scoters, Scaups, and 1 female Aristonetta
palisineria. There were a large number of gulls on
the pond. One Ardea herodias in slough; looked like stick.
March 31, 1909.
Alameda to San Francisco, California.
There were very few ducks along the mole to-day.
Scaups and Scoters were all that were seen; one Fidemia
perspicillata was seen close. There were a few gulls
on the sand this evening. Larus glaucescens and Larus
