16. This morning there were several flocks of ducks on the water along the seawall and mole. While going out the mole I saw two cormorants flying westward. On the bay Larus californicus and Larus glaucescens followed the steamer in equal proportions, all of the former being adults, however. San Francisco to Alameda, California. This evening when crossing the bay the usual Larus californicus and Larus glauces- cens were seen. When fairly close to Alameda mole, a dozen lots passed in front of us south bound flying close to the water. Along the mole I saw two or three good-sized flocks of ducks on the water; they appeared to be mostly scoters. February 7, 1909. Alameda, California. I saw one or two Zonotrichia leucophrys in the yard. February 8, 1909. Alameda to San Francisco, California. A. M. Along the mole I saw three or four good sized flocks of ducks on the water.
