For the past two mornings I have noted several
birds (apparently flowers) about the size of Squatarola
helvetica in the vegetable gardens at West Alameda.
They would fly as the train passed; but there not
the above-mentioned species. They may have been
Oypechus vociferus, although they appeared too large.

This morning I saw in the vegetable gardens
at West Alameda several of the flowers mentioned
above.
