6.
Chen hyperboreus.
April 7, 1909.
One of my eleven Snow Geese is adult in
plumage save for a grayish shade on the
face; its legs are a darker (immature) color;
the bill is red like an adult's.
May 15, 1909.
On May 12 I shipped all of my geese away
as they had become quite noisy, making an
almost continual moaning and clucking,
especially in the evenings and mornings.
The Ross's and White-fronted Geese
are included in this remark.
All of my immature Chen hyperboreus
still showed about the same amount of
gray.
