Clangula clangula. One or two in deep slough.
Erimaturna jamaicensis. Two or three in deep
slough in high plumage.
Agelaius phoeniceus. Three or four in marsh,
singing.
Haundroerythrogaster. Four or five flying over sloughs
About a week ago, I saw a couple of young Passer
domesticus fresh from a nest; they were in a tree on
Briggs Avenue.
The Aristometta valisneria was quite fat, while
the three Fuligula marila taken were lean, as was
also the Squatarola helvetica in white plumage.

This morning I saw three Nycticorax nycti-
orax flying westward over the town.
April 24, 1908.
Alameda to San Francisco, bal.
conditions:- Morning; overcast; moderate temperature; high
tide.
On the marsh west of First Street. I saw a number
of Minuenius hudsonicus, sandpipers including
Black-bellied Pelidna alpina, and one or two
Regialews semipalmatus.
On the bay I noted a goodly number of
Larus californicus.
This evening I saw a Dendroica estiva collecting
nesting material on the ground in our yard and taking
