When about off Goat Island this evening I noted six scoters flying NW close to the water, A few minutes later several Scamp ducks were noted going in the same direction but quite high in the air. Several Quite a few ducks were noted along the mole in the evening. April 17, 18, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, Cal. Conditions: - Warm; light wind; clear. Last evening I noted three flocks of ducks going north not very high in the air; two were of about twenty-five or thirty individuals, the other of about fifteen. This morning I noted a flock of about a hundred bunched together on the water in the light near the roundhouse. There were also occasional scoters scattered all along the mole. This evening none were noted: A good many shore birds (snipe and sand pipers) were noted on the exposed sand near the roundhouse each morning. On the bay as well as at this latter place gulls were
