when swooping for some piece of floating food. A few immature Larus glaucescens were observed at the San Francisco end of the ferry. March 28, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, cal. Conditions:- Moderate temperature; Light wind; clear. Larus glaucescens are common as usual. I saw two Aechmophorus occidentalis (?) this evening along the mole. Heard curlew at the foot of the street this morning. Mar. 31, 1907. Alameda, cal. Conditions:- Warm; light wind; clear. I noted a good many Larus californicus, nearly all adults, in Oakland creek. Last evening coming over on the steamer, both this species and Larus glaucescens (immature) were common. Larus philadelphia with black head reported to-day. Apr. 3, 1907.
