18. March 23, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, Cal. Conditions:- Wind variable; rainy; moderate temperature. Along the mole in the morning there were a few Oidemia perspicillata and Scamp ducks. There were a few immature Larus glaucescens on the piles at Alameda mole. This species and Larus californicus followed the steamer across. In the evening there were a number of both species about the slip on the San Francisco side. On the roof of a pier south of the ferry building were a great many of both species in about equal numbers. Along the mole there were quite a few Oidemia perspicillata, several Scamp ducks, one or two Oidemia deglandi, and one loon. Some of the Scamp ducks seemed to be feeding from the surface of the water. I noted a loon yesterday morning. March 24, 1907. San Leandro Bay, Alameda Co., Cal.
