parts are increasing. Dark feathers are replacing
the lighter gray ones of the back.

The plover is rapidly becoming darker.
Calls more frequently.

The plover is becoming very handsome
with his nearly immaculate black under parts.

Gray feathers of back still giving
way to black ones with white tips.

In fine high plumage and calling continually
