I shot three of them in Damons slough; one high breeding plumage, another showing a little red on the neck and some gray at the base of the bill. Gulls. A few. Cormorants. About twenty, all going north. Ducks. Abundant. Aythya vallisneria. Common. Aythya marila. Abundant Aythya affinis. A few. Clangula clangula. A few. Eromatura jamaicensis. Quite a few. Numenius hudsonicus. Two. Squatarola squatarola. Quite a few. Some show ing black on the breast. Octodromas minutilla. Common. Shot one which showed considerable red on the back.
