JAN - 2 1905 The following ducks were brought by hunters from near the Boyte Hills, Alameda Co., Cal. :- Anas boschas Nettion carolinensis Spatula clypeata Dafila acuta Mareca americana. JAN - 9 1905 During the past week, golden-eyes have been abundant along the mole. They do not seem to fear the train, as not many fly as it passes. I have ridden inside the steamer during the last week in the mornings. On the San Francisco side, Larus glaucescens is abundant; they sit on sheds, on piles, and many follow the steam- ers. There are few high adults. In the evenings I ride outside. I then see a few Larus cali- fornicus and many Larus canus or Larus brachyrynchus or both, JAN 11 1905 Alameda, Cal.
