Oidemia deglandi. I also saw one or two other ducks,
probably golden-eyes. I found one dead Colymbus auritus.
In the "deep slough" Blangula clangula was
common but unapproachable. I shot one which
drifted by my place of concealment. It proved
to be a female. I saw one or two Eriornithura
jamaicensis; they are much easier to approach.

Along the mole during the last two days I
have seen a few ducks and grebes in the morning.
Conditions have been the same as on Thursday,
the 1st. This morning I saw a couple of loons near
the slip as the train was slowing down, they
drunk as the train passed.
I have ridden inside the steamer each morning,
but nevertheless have seen a good many Larus
Californicus on the San Francisco side of the ferry.
