Melopelia leucoptera. (White-winged Dove.)
June 1, 1908.
Exchanged No. 24 (Streptopelia risoria) with Mrs. Chapman
on Central Avenue for one of these birds (No. 32), which was
caught about a week ago when it entered her pigeon
yard.
June 2, 1908.
When I returned home this evening the bird had
been killed by a cat.
December 10, 1911.
Today I saw an adult at very close range in an
aviary in Golden Gate Park. It appeared to be in
fresh plumage.
