May 16. (Boulder Cr.) Tame Br. Towhee came to table for food.
Sp. Towhee, duail heard. At lunch time two
Turkey Vultures were flying low just east of house.
A Sharp Sh. (or Cooper?), flying high. (No flycatchers,
juices, Song sp.- Jays.)
Tanagers.
May 17. Warm. A pair of quail just east of house -
(in baccharis below electric pole). Walked across
Campus fr. Euclid Ave to W.F.C. Very few birds
except along Strawberry Creek. A Cliff Swallows
about the Stadium (have young flown from
ests on Life Sciences Building?)
May 18. Warm day, Allen Hummers' spent 2 ½ hrs
in Codornices Park. Birds very abt., many families.

Cliff Swallows 3 over Euclid Ave next to Reservoir,
Steller Jay 1 heard, Calif. Jay 2 heard, Titmouse 1 fam.-,
Brush Tits - two + fam. 1 pr., Wrentits 4 prs., Bewick W. 1 pr.,
and family out of nest, Robin 2 males seen, Rob. Thr.
very abt. a pair spent much time diving off a third,
many songs - Hutton Vires 1pr, Warbling V. 3 pr.,
Lwt. Warbler 1 fam., 3 prs., Pit. Warbler 3 prs.,
Tanager 1 og., Eng. Sp. a few, Grosbeak 4 prs. + one male
sg. or nest., Lay. B. 1 pr. in Rose Garden, Purple T. 4 pr.,
Albriet vergat - esp. Rose G., 2+ Goldfinch several,
Tinlin a few, Spotted Towhee 6 pr. (feeding 4p. in nest?)
Brown Towhee 6 pr., Fox Sparrow 1, Song Sp. very abt.

The Fox Sparrow was scratching among dead leaves on
banks of the creek - Watched it 15 min. at 20 ft.
through 8X glasses - A very late date.
At 6:15 p.m. Several Rgl. wg. Sw. were at south
end of Stadium and flew to drainpipes in Bieber Wall
