April 28. Rain's hard last night. Cloudy, warm, no rain.
Lady Birds walked up Strawberry Canyon, returns
by trail to Eas of Panoramic Way. 1 Redtail (below Pan.W.)
Ravil (spr) opp. dairy below Can. Rd., Anna H. (Ham.Cam.), Rufous
H. P. below trail, W. Fly. ab., Coast Jay ab. upper Str. Cam.,
Calif. Jay ab., quiet; Blackbirds many pairs; 1 Red br. Nuthatch,
Wren-T. ab.; Vagoo Wren ab.-2 House Wren, Thrasher 2 heard -
one in deodar singing; Redtail. 6. Thrush 2 heard, whihle,
Robin, Cedar Waxwing off. S. of Stadium, Warbling Vireo ab.,
1 Cassin's s. of Bot. Gar., 1 Hutton Vireo near trail, Let. W. ab.
2 Yellow W., / Black Thry. W. near Swim. pool, Toliwic W. ab.;

Apr. 30. Beautiful warm weather. Many birds singing.
While I washed windows a.m. I heard Bewick Wren,
Lutescent Warbler, Toliwic Warbler, Thrasher constantly-
Hutton Vireo, Bush-Tits, Junco occasionally.
May 1. Ditto. A pair of Juncos came to the Abalone
shell for seeds. Scolded a cat that came
across below the house.
May 2. At 5:20 (war time) a Toliwic Warbler sang
repeatedly half an hour before the Spotted Towhee,
Bewick Wren & Lutescent Warbler began under my
window. A Pursett-backed Thrush was whistling,
no song. At 7:30 a.m., a full plumed male
Tanager was in the oak east of house, J.T.A.
heard a Red br. Nuthatch in canyon below. Cloudy a.m.-
