Apr.20. As we walked up from the W.F.C. after dinner
we saw a flock of 17 quail on the lawn at
Cowell Hospital and 5 between the Gladden
and the back of International House. Fox sp. at pool.
Apr.21. A pair of Hutton Vireos made a great
fuss east of the house where they have been,
calling for some time. Finally a Calif. Jay flew
out and they after rain - Tolewic Warbler
singing all the time. Robins, Siskins >.
Apr.24. Beautiful day. A Ungar Wren has been
singing constantly just east of house but
I have heard no answering call. Today a
second bird was there and I saw one enter
the Titmouse box - House Wren is heard N.W. of
house. Thrasher still sings occasionally above
end of Morwood Rd. Tolewic W., Hutton Vired,
Sp. Towhee, Lutescent Warbler.
Apr.22. Rained during last night. Cloudy all day-
Tolewic Warbler in full song. No activity at box
(Titmouse), but male Ungar Wren singing as usual.
April 23 Beautiful day. Apr.24 Cloudy. Apr.25 Clear, chilly.
Apr.26 Cloudy. Rain at night. Tolewic Warbler, Froebel etc.
Apr.27. Raining. "Allen Hummers" went to M.V.Z. then
walked (in rain) on lower campus. Swallows nests
at Life Sciences Bldg. seems complete but no birds seen-
Linnets on cornices. Nuttall Sp. & Song Sp. ag. Heard
whistle of Phoebe-backed Thrush. Saw robin building nest

in small oak north of Agri. Bldg. - Placed them in crotch.
Male nearby. Swirl heard north of L.S. Bldg. W. Fly, Pil War-
bler, W. Vireo ag. Siskins, Purple Finch ag.
