Black Phoebe pr. at Swimming Pool. W. Flycatcher (5), Buth-tl pr.,
Titmouse 4, Virgin Wren very ab. 12t, Wrentit very ab. Hermit Thr. 1,
Robins (in spots) (no knights), Hutton Vireo 3, Warbling V. 6,
Lutecent warbler 12t?, Pal. Warbler 12t?, Aud. Warbler 2fl.?
Torn.W. 1fl. Sq., Toliuis W. (1st). Purple F. ab. sq., Siskins (spots)
the Goldfinch 1 (top of trail), Slatin a few, juncos low. canyon, Chickadee
Sp. 1 coil edge of Bot. Bar, Brown Thrasher in many places, Sp. Tow. ab.
Tong Sp. very ab. 10t, 'Norwood Rd. Resb. withatch, So many warblers
e.t.c. that it sounded like an aviary. Robins come for worms
April 8: Birds very ab. esp. warblers - Large flock Siskins.
Rain in evening. The Nuttall Sparrow with the special song
was at the north end of the Stadium at 7 p.m. The coup-
lets in middle not slurried but staccato. Rain all night.
April 8: A.M. Cloudy, cold. Clearing p.m.- cold wind.
April 9: Clear. Chilly. Heard "chuck-chucks" of Hermit
Thrush at dawn. No Fox Sparrows. A Virgin Wren
sings but I hear no answering calls. W. Flycatcher
near N.W. porch. Purple Finch (sq.), Siskins,
Juncos heard in Trees. Mrs. Haddley reported
a Grobeate in her garden.
Apr.10: Warm. I could hear a Toliuis Warbler singing
beyond the end of Norwood Rd. Purple Finches,
And Warbler eating worms in vats, singing.
Robin picks up worms on ground Brown Thrasher
within hearing now.
April 11 (Sunday) Sunny- At 10 A.M. I listened to the birds
from our house & the end of Norwood Rd.: Flyer. W. Flycatcher,
Coast Jay (3 very noisy), Buth-tl 1pr., Wrentit (1pr), Virgin Wren 1sq,
Thrush 1 sq. (beyond end of road. First time this opening? Robin.
Hermit Thr. ab. sq., Hutton Vireo (1sq.), Lut. W. 1sq.(Feb-21), Pal. W. 1 sq.,
Aud. W. fl. sq. full fl., Purple Finch ab. sq., Siskins ab. sq.,
