Apr. 14. (contin). Dun. Br. Pipits at., only 3 Cliff Sw. seen on
way, none at bridge. 1 Barn Swallow.
Apr. 15: Showers and sun - Breezy. Very few summer birds in. 1 W. Flycatcher, 1 Warbling Vireo,
1 Lutescent W. near cottage.
2 Sp. Towhee, 1 Br. Towhee, 1 pr. Juncoes, Single
Chickadees.
Apr. 16: Warner. Breezy in afternoon. I heard
the call note of a Pilolated Warbler and
song of Black-throated Gray. No flocks of
migrants as in Berkeley. 1 Purple Finch Singing.
Apr. 17: Hermit Thrush singing (J.T.A.)
Started to Berkeley 10:45 a.m. - Heard song of
Pilolated Warbler from highway before we
reached Boulder Creek. No swallows in town-
Dumbarton Bridge Tide very low. Very few
birds at waterfront - At tide line, East end -
and on mud - Willets, Black-bellied
Flower (all in one place, full plumage)
Godwits " " " " a few
Dowitchers, Sandpipers. 1 Yellowlegs.
Two birds looked like Knots - bills short.
Eared Grebes 400?, Bluebills D., Avocets few,
(On a rocky islet 1 Avocet seemed to
be sitting on a nest in tidal slough - ?)
Saw a few Cliff Swallows. Sandpipers >.
Ruddy Ducks in our salt pool - 25?.
Apr. 19: Raining all day. In the clouds. "Mr. Hack-
ley reported Hermit Thrush. Young Allen
Hummer fell from nest at Mr. Bullis
Garage. Fartners well developed. Fox
Sparrow near pool. (Margot)
