The note in parenthesis was sometimes omitted.
The rise in pitch was greater than indicated
with a sharp rise in the quiegle-eagle, e.g.
The Lutescent Warbler was the only other
bird as near as the thrush to the window.

of Prunio near R.R.

Mockingbirds, Cal. Jay (p.m. nest in Deodor, feidy
small young D jidge - picked up much of their
food from the Lawn), Song Sparrow, Finches,
Br. Black birds, Flycatcher (wood Pewee ?)
Perhaps the flycatcher was a female minus
a mate for > heard no distinctive call.
Near by I saw Mourning Doves and heard
the Song of a Wren Tit.
June 2. Returned to S. Jose on Daylight then went
To Boulder Creek.
June 3. Spent the morning watering the garden,
OSL Gray Warblers - both male & female seen -
apparently gathering food for nestlings.
Tanagers at dawn and later. P.b. Thrush,
4b. Goldfinch singing. Ns Olive-sided near House.
June 4. Berkeley. At dawn P.b. Lutescent Warbler. Then
P.b. Thrush, Tolmie Warbler, Warbling Vireo and
Later Vigor Vireo. I think (from constant singing
near house) the V. Vireo is nesting just east of the house.
Vigor Vireos have y.q. out of the nest. Weather beautiful.
