Yb. Goldfinch 1 flying over trail : 1 Purple Finch near trail,
one in garden - three sep. call both times; pair of Brown
Turkeys kept close together in garden - others in meadow
Sp. Torches 2 in garden; several high over trail. Juncos
not very abr. Jan. 1 - a number in garden.
(Monrobins, Kingfisher, Creeper, Chyl, Distin, Song Sp.)
On way home Jan. 1. 1000s Br. Blackbirds south of Dringtion,
on wires, in close flight, among cattle. Shrikes 6-10;
Sfp. Hawks 10-15; Sh. Rares bird in same place.
1 flock Crowed Sparrows east of Alnico; Song Sp. (Mr. Pond
Meadowlarks ab - some singing.
At Alr. Pools - cloudy. A Great Blue Heron, many
Killdeer, Coots 200+, a few Bintails. Very
few blackbirds.
