on lower slopes of Mt. Vision,
Warbling Vireo - very com., Cassin's V. heard, Hutton
Vireo above Diverness - several heard.
Warblers: Intercent, Bilesated (very str.),
(One song heard near Miss Burress unidetified)
(Sounded like Calaveras) Yellow W. on way
in willow!
Brewer Blackbirds com. in pairs in Diverness -
Meadowlarks, Redwings along way,
Black h. Grosbeak - very scarce - one female seen,
One male heard singing.
E.g., Sparrow - in town block way.
Sagebrush Bunting - one on al. wire at Lagunitas -
Calif. Purple Finch at., House Finch at., Willow
Goldfinch at., Green Jacked (not atr.) Siskins
very at.,
Spotted Towhee at. (No Brown Towhees seen).
Juncos - a few pair seen - others heard singing
on hillslopes up first valley.

May 19. We took our lunches and walked part way
up Mt. Vision - beautiful clear day. Left
Diverness at 4:45 p.m., S.F. 7 p.m., Warm.
Returning by bus the weather became quite
hot at Fairfax etc. and in the Bay region.
May 20. Berkeley hot - 92° in places.
May 21. From 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in Hamilton
Canyon. Fog on the bay, cooler.
