A few Pintails and Shovelers. Kelleder, Black-
bellied Plover, a few in full plumage; several
Yellowlegs, one of them decidedly smaller
than a Willet. Willets, Sandpipers: Western
and Least. A Burrowing Owl near by on post.
Many Coots. Meadowlarks (singing), Blackbirds Br.
White-cr. Sparrows (Puget Sl.) & Swallows at Alvarado
At Dumbarton Bridge- Avocets most ab. bird
seen. Redbacked, Western and Least Sandpipers.
Willets (noisy). In the afternoon whiptide was
out many birds on the shore: Dowitellers very
ab. Sandpipers (3 kinds), Bb. Plover, Willets,
a few Godwits and Curlew. W. & S. 4 Am. Epity
2 Clapper Rails, 1 Eared Grebe, 1 W. Grebe,
1 Scoter (female?); Bluebills and W. Grebes
on bay proper. 1 Barn Owl seen.
Mt. View. Birds very scarce. 8 lb. 8 1/4 nd. Curlew;
Bb. Plover, Willets, Godwits. St. Blue Herons 4-
Burrowing Owl on Post. No swallows -
Many linnets at Dunn. Br., a few pipits, (Bryant
Sp.) 1 Horned Lark. Along the way Sparrow
Hawk at.
Mar.25. Partly Cloudy. Warm. A Hermit Thrush
was singing "sotto voce" near the pool. Later
a thrasher was digging near the pool. House
Wren met into box - no mate yet. 1 Luticat
Warbler near Willow house, one near Straton house
one above (E) Your house. Purple finch singing.
Mar.26. A group of Audubon Warblers in oaks, singing.
Mar.27. A Western Flycatcher was calling at
the north end of Piedmont Ave.
