exceeding numerous: G.C. Sp., Ongtuerus and Gambrel
White-crowns; St. Goldfinches, Willow Gdf. Linnets,
Bluebirds, And Warblers, all these in large numbers.
Nuttall & Dory Woodpecker, Calif. Woodp. Flickers;
Calif. Jays, Titmouse, Vigor Wren, Slender b. Nuttall's,
R.C. Kinglets, a few Robins. At the temple a cold
wind was blowing and clouds were threatening
but we had no rain. After lunch (in cars) we returned
through Riles Canyon and stopped at the Riles
Nursery where we saw a Mockingbird (no song). Also
Dwells, Black-cheeks, Bushtits, Titmouse. Total 34 species.
At the first stop I saw two Lark Sparrows.
Nov. 19. Cold north wind - frost in morning. I hear
the W.W. Wren under my windows each morning.
At the Aquatic Park in the afternoon I found
birds increasing: Puddles, Bluebills, Camasbacks;
more coots; Far. Cormorants, W.T. Bon. Gulls (probably
other sp. too), Forlir Terms 12-26; 2 and 3 Pied billed
Greeve (a few), Ann. Egret. The Grete was on the
loom with gulls, terms and Cormorants, resting
and preening from 3:30-3:35. Then it flew into
the pool and fished where the intake is west
of the island.
