Total list. 35 species.
In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Roger Tony Pelton came and we walked up Strawberry Canyon

hear the song of the Lutescent Warbler and
see a male Allen Hummingbird). We did not
succeed in finding the Nuttall Vireo. Wasp
A Chocolat Warbler was building beyond Thruend of Morewood
May 15. In this late afternoon I drove up Claremont
Canyon a little way and up Scout Road
without hearing a Nuttall Vireo.
May 16. A Mourning Dove was near the N.W.
corner of the house. J.T.A. heard it call
and I reached the porch in time to
hear it call and see it fly up the
Canyon. A Tolius Warbler was in oak next kitchen.
In the afternoon I went to Filden
Part with R.T.P.
for half an hour to listen for a
Nuttall Vireo but heard none. A
Thrush whistled it once, Cooler.
May 17. Great Horned Owls were hooting during the
night - different pitches.
May 18. Went to Boulder Creek via Danielson Bridge.
There were no Phalaropes; three Eared Grebes
in full plumage; Caspian Terns were
numerous (15-20); several pairs of Avocets.
Night tide at Mountain Vireo.
In the afternoon we drove to
the top of Ben Lomond Mountain.
