May18. Lois saw a pair of quail with four
Tiny babies on the pavement of Morwood
Road. The mother covered the babies but
as Lois approached, the parents went
up on the sidewalk; but the babies ran
along the road. One fell over as it ran.
Finally they came One jumped up four
inches over the curb. The other Three
ran until they reached a garage entrance
where they could join the parents -
Thrushes began their period of song. One
is often on the front path and is quite Tame-
