3 Near Dunnington W. Bluebirds, Aud. Warblers and Purple Finches were closely associated on a weedy slope. At Dumbarton there was nothing seen on the salt ponds but beyond Sandpipers, many of them Raskas, were abundant and in the distance we could see Pintails, Avocets and Willets. Beyond them, lost almost in the fog were flocks of birds which we could not identify. Manquels and Cornavant (1) Returned to Bamberg where we spent a few minutes on the fresh water pond where we saw Pintails (a few), coots, Dowitchers (4st), Yellowlegs (Greater?) (4-6) and Sandpipers. Feb -1-7. No cold weather or frost. Feb. 7, 8. Rain. Warm. Feb. 9. A female Anna Hummingbird comes to the Red-hot Poker plants and also to both feeding tubes - one on honeysuckle at front door, one on feeding table. Clean. Feb. 10. North wind- Feb. 11. Beautiful Spring day. Many birds at Condomines Park. We sat on bank and watched them come down to the stream to bathe. Gambel & C. Sparrows. Fox Sp., Greenback Goldfinch, Townsend Warbler, Varied Thrush. Birds singing - Gambel Sp., Fox Sp., Vagans Wren, Urrutet and Calif Purple Finch. Saw also Willow Woodp. + Scr. Chir. About 5 p.m. heard the buzz of the Allen Hummer. Feb.12 At 4:50 p.m. I heard a thumps followed by a entire woos fluttering sound as I sat in the living room.
