Bryant Sp., Pt.B. James, Gamber, Mitchell, Engel S. Field, Cr.
Marsh Song Sparrows. Bonaparte Gulls were seen at
Ross Landing and Hermannos at Santa Cruz, esp. in
the river near the bridge.
Oct. 29. Fox Sparrows calling at dawn. A few have been heard but
not seen at feeding table yet. 2 Nuthatches in pines.
Oct. 30. Went to Boulder Creek with James. Some rain. Returned
in afternoon. Saw varied Thrushes feeding on madrone berries.
A blue-gray bird (Cooper) flew into the oak tree at the
Corner of the garage; heard the call of a small bird; hawk
flew out and through Gethernal, disappeared under bireco
at end.
Oct. 31. Clear again.
Nov. 1. Mrs. Fletcher's group on lower campus. Saw several
Nuthatch Thrushes near together, calling excitedly. Possibly
a family group as some calls suggested young birds.
Several Townsend Warblers seen. Ruby-crowned Kinglet sang.

Nov. 7. Boulder Creek. Clear, cold with frost in morning
ring and ½
