1937
Sept. 18. Boulder Creek. Russet-backed Thrush
was calling morning and evening. Cassin
Vireo still present; Kingfisher, Creters,
Juncos, Chichadees, etc. As we came
down the Saratoga grade eight vul-
tures were seen soaring - a land breeze was
blowing.
Sept. 22. At Codornices Park one Allen
Huntingbird was seen. Goldfinches (M)
(Green-backed) were in fresh plumage and
singing freely. A female Tanager was seen.
Mrs. Fletcher reported a (Ruby-crowned)
Kinglet? and Pilolated Warbler in her
garden. Iridescent Warblers were seen in
this park.
Sept. 19. At the bay near the bridge toll gate
there were great number of Sandpipers
and many gulls - some Bonaparte -
dropping to the water as Terns do.
Sept. 24. Several Black-throated Gray Warblers
were feeding in the oaks east of the house.
Warm.
Sept. 25. At Santa Soguel at the home of Mrs.
Ronald Good, I saw a flock of White-
crowned Sparrows. Their bills were pale yellow
and I judged from the song they were J.
Pugetensis. Not.
Sept. 27. Berkeley. Golden-crowned Sparrows
were singing near our house. Cool.
Sept. 28. Cool, cloudy. Gambel Sparrows at
Codornices Park. Also Pilolated Warbler.
