In the afternoon after 2 p.m I was working in the
Garden for an hour. A Ruby-crowned Kinglet,

Came in. The clock-winding song was heard
many times. Townsend Warblers + juncoes still
singing. Heard guard call of quail.
March 27. Cloudy. Rain in evening. Not so many
birds near the house. Hermit Thrush still

many Audubon Warblers and Pine Siskins
were singing. Tonight and last night at
6 p.m. a robin perched on the tip of a tall
Redwood s.w. of the Women's Faculty Club- and
dang continuously. Sharp-shinned Hawk heard. Bird
was perched in thick oak N.E of house just over line.

so ground is quite dry. Small black beetles
eating petals of Nemophila dais and Cal.
