1936 115 Nest contains 5 eggs - drabelline color. Nest completely hidden by fern & moss. A Gilesolate Warbler sang all the morning near the east pool - first time this year. Robins and Purple Finches gone. No droppings from oak worms. Cloudy all day. April 21. Gilesolate Warbler continued Singing. Also Palmie, nearer the house than in past years. April 22. Cloudy. Lady Birds went to Clear Lake via Mt. St. Helena, Middletown, Lower Lake. Rain in mountains. Dogwood, Hackberry, Ceanothus Iris (Mt. St. Helena); Blue Larkspur, yellow Calochortus, ground iris, blue ceanothus, tidy tips, etc., in Lake Co. Birds abundant. Found in Lake Co. Western Grebe - abundant on lake; mating calls & booming. Bald Eagle (seen by Mrs. Sanders) White Pelican - 50+ - east arm of lake, above narrows. Terns - several seen on lake. Mt. Blue Heron - abundant on lake. Black-crowned Night Heron - " Anthony Green Heron - one seen at Antioch. Mallards - many - perhaps domesticated. Cinnamon Teal - one, near Clear Lake Park. Turkey Vulture - abundant everywhere. Sparrow Hawk, many seen Osprey - one perched in dead oak between Middletown & Mt. St. H. California Duck - many small flocks seen Coots - scattered in places suitable for nesting. California Gulls - abundant. Fork-tailed Tern - several seen. Caspian Tern - 50+ seen on east arm of lake, a few elsewhere. Morning Dove - 20+ . Honeycreeper - two in minidus path - Anna ?
