(from brain) Vigors Wren, English Sparrow.
June 13. Wrens hatched in box - naked except for a little down.
June 16. Went into Berkeley Hills with Mr. and
Mrs. Bible to find Bell Sparrow.
Saw or heard Sp. Torhe, Br. Torhe, Bush-tits (in flock)
Wren-tits, Vigors Wren, St. Goldfinch, Linnet,
? Nuttall Sp. Song Sp. Meadow Lark, Cal. Jay, Lazuli
Bunting, Thrasher, Willow Goldfinch, Anna H.,
Rufous-c-r. Sparrow, Horned Lark (heard), Gros-
beak, Cliff Swallows, Russet-b. Thrush, Tolinie
W., Bil. Warbler, Dut.-Warbler, Lark Sparrow,
Flicker, Quail, Allen H., Purple Finch and,
on divide between Strawberry Canyon and,
Claremont Canyon a pair of Bell Sparrows
building a nest in fern and artemisia.
Song:
June 19. Little wrens in box (Vigors), covered
with pin feathers. Both parents feed but
only one broods apparently.
June 22. W. Flycatcher came on to perch
of feeding table.
