May 15. Hot. Took 6 A.M. train to Los Angeles.
Rented to Exposition Park at 11 A.M. Figgy.
Where I saw Mr. Wyman. Consulted him
about doubtful species. In the park,
Brewer Blackbirds were feeding young,
Mockingbirds were building a nest in
a large Eucalyptus tree near the Museum,
Killdeer has a nest in the Sinkin Garden
in the inside rim of the pond (Wyman)
Took 4th train for Berkeley.
May 16. Reached Berkeley 8 A.M. Cool, foggy.
Robins near Faculty Club. W. Tanagers in Canyon
singing. W. Flycatcher has nest under N.W.
porch.
May 17. Commencement Cool, foggy.
W. Tanager singing. House Wrens have
nest in box near swing - same one
occupied last year by House Wrens which
I banded.
May 18. Cool. W. Tanagers singing at dawn.
May 19. Migrating Warblers. Yellow, Paleolated etc.
Delayed by rain? Rain.
May 20. Hunt with family to Ross Valley for day.
Beautiful weather. On bay saw F. Cormor-
ant diving, W. Gull, Calif. Gull, Surf Scoters,
W. Sandpipers, Hudsonian Curlew (?) in Marin
marsh
