fish trying to jump up over fall 2 ft. or more high.
Du Pomona Eng. Sp. builds nests on stubs of palm
leaves that have been cut, leaves above form
thatched roof over nests. Noded Bride
✓ feeding young in nest built close under
palm leaf. Naked heads stretched up for
food.
(After returning to Berkeley, Mrs. Fish reported that
Mrs. Riley and friend found Cedar Waxwings
in Mr. Nickerson's garden on June 9, eating
Cherries, I suppose)
June 10. Returned to L.A.
June 11. Went to exposition Park. Mr. Wyman very
kindly explained the wonderful specimens
taken from the Brea Beds. Later in afternoon
went by auto to see Brea Beds- specimen
left in situ.
June 12. Auto ride to City Parks, Elysian
Wrestake, Eastlake, Nollenbeck - Returned
8:30 P.M. Black Phoebes everywhere.
