May 28. Had beautiful morning walk in
trash, due east past Sixth place-
Added following birds to list, Bulctur
Bird, Cactus Wren (with 3 young), Cal.
Woodpeckers (w. nest in dead top of Sycamore)
Costa Hummer. The Wren and Hammer
identified for first time. Phainopeplas
nest in oak tree, 30 ft. up - Feeding young.
Cliff Swallows nest on Bridges Hall
all destroyed.
May 29. Went to Pomona and out to Cemetery.
Investigated Eup. Sp. in Claremont.
Found only one colony nesting in
Eucalyptus trees on Alexander's First St.
May 30. Went by automobile to Los Angeles
By way of Foothill Boulevard - Stopped
at Brush Gardens in Pasadena, and
lunched at Eagle Rock.
May 31. Went by auto to Griffiths Park. Took
lunch. Thrashers very tame. Cal. Jayo
