Feb. 1917. Meade to see them. Great numbers eating peppers berries at 1633 arch st. Feb. 13. Began series of Bird walks. Went along Piedmont Ave. into Blake Gardens & Campus. Saw Audubon Warblers, Ruby-cs Kinglets, W. Robins, Varied Robin, San Francisco Towhee, Dwarf Hermit Thrush, Golden- cs Sparrow, Anna Hummingbird, Allen Hummingbird (first time this season), Purple Finch, Song Sp., Birch-tits, Mew-tits, Vigoro Wren, Cal. B. Towhee. Feb. 17. Cold, partly cloudy. Walked along Piedmont into Campus & a little way on Big C. Trail, Saw Audubon W., Song Sp., Flickers, Cal. Blue Jay, Ruby-cs, Kinglets, Br. Towhees, S.F. Towhee, Mew-tits (2), Bushtit, Meadow Lark, Pipits (500?), Nuttall Sparrow, Golden- cs Sp., Pine Siskin (100), Anna and Allen H - Varied Robin, Red-tailed Hawk, Vigoro Wren. Feb. 19 Rain Feb. 18-22. Country very dry. Normal in January. Feb. 27. Clear crisp. Walked third Institution Road, then along Prospect to Campus. Saw very little
