Aug. 11. Addressed Coopes Club notices in
evening. Back very bad. Sat at dining
room table. Heard scratching on lower
pane (lower) of door on to east porch.
Turned on light and found skunk
trailing about on porch, head down,
tail up over back.
Aug. 12. Beginning of 5 weeks in bed with
intense suffering in sciatic nerve.
Aug. 14 Heard Grosbeaks.
Aug. 15. Many Vines Foggy.
Aug. 16. Cold. foggy. Aug. 17. Mac.9. Warbler
singing.
Aug. 18. Thrasher singing beautifully at 5-9 A.M.
Aug. 20. Very warm. Fog in night.
Aug. 28. Heard Grosbeak.
Aug. 29. Lieutenant & Tolice Warbler still here.
