Cliff Swallows about barn. Brewer's [illegible] July 17. Saw hornet, black-head & thorax blue wings, red abdomen. Black tip. Dug hole in ground, brought paralyzed tent caterpillar, buried it, filled hole and sealed w. pebbles. Matched process three times. Tent caterpillars very abundant on deer brush. July 18.
