Russet-backed Thrush. Very windy, clear.
May 21. James found Screech Owl sitting in hole
of Flicker Box at end of Mosswood Road
May 22. Wann. Saw Blue Jay attack Screech
Owl. Owl repulsed three attacks then took
refuge in nesting box. Tanagers here.
May 23. Cold N.W. Wind. Took ladies to Golden
Gate Park. Saw:
1. Mallard - 3 with young on N. Lake
2. Puddy Ducks - several
3. Coot - Several with young
4. Northern Phalarope - one on N. Lake.
5. Kildeer - 3 in marsh in buffalos paddock
6. Cal. Quail - Several pairs, one with very young
