May 13. Tork Bird Census 5-7:30 A.M.
Hot, east wind.
May 14. Went to Golden Gate Park with Mrs.
Ferguson. Met Mr. Hansen and Same
Warden of the park; Mr. Klapp. Beautiful
Clear, warm day. Saw following birds:
1. Pied-billed Gull - one on North Lake.
2. Gulls - several flying over.
3. Mallard - many. Saw 16 mothers with
chicks, 2 nests occupied, 1 nest rifled.
4. Puddy Duck - Several on Slow Lake N. Lake
5. Lesser Scaup - Several. 2 with young.
6. White-fronted Goose,
7. Canada Goose,
8. Cackling Goose ?)
Slow Lake.
9. Coot - Several. Two with young, 2 each.
10 Northern Phalarope - small - one on N. Lake.
11 Red Phalarope - larger. Several on North Lake.
12 Killdeer - heard and saw one as it flew over.
