Apr.29. Set. Bird walk. Went up canyon from
Mr. Stratton's almost to Such Ranch. Heard four
MacG. Warblers, two Grosbeaks, one Thrasher, four
Western Flycatchers, one Hutton Vireo (saw), three
Paleolated Warblers, two Lutiscant Warblers (busy with
nestlings), one Titmouse, many Song Sp., Towhees
and Jays.
Apr.30 Heard Wood Peewee. Found Linnet's nest, four
eggs. A Lazuli Bunting near house. Also Black
headed Grosbeaks. Heard Warblers singing-
Townsend (?). Hot.
May 1. Heard Wood Peewee in distance.
May 2. Golden-cr. Sp. still here. Thrushes singing.
3. Saw 2 Gold-cr. Sp.
4. " " " " About 3 P.M. heard great
commotion among birds on hillside W. of Parker
house. Saw Blue Jay fly out of low bush with
young bird in his beak. Examined spot. Found
Wrentit's nest with one young bird, almost naked.
Put fine rabbit wire over nest.
