March 1, 2. Showers. March 3. Saw and heard
Allen Hummingbirds.
March 4. Saw Rufous Hummer,
March 8. Bush tits taking nesting material
from old nest. Went to cemetery. Saw following
birds in Country Club: Red-breasted Sapsucker,
Kinglets, Varied Robins, Juncoes, Purple finches (many)
Pine Siskins (many), S.F. and Cal. Towhees, Song
Sp. and White cr. Sp.
March 11. Began a second section for Bird
Walks. 11 present. Saw 18 birds. Blue
gays carrying nesting materials. Saw
13 quells rise over hills and fly eastward
about 4 P.M.
Mar. 12. Pale-olated Warbler and Western Flycatcher
back. Heard migrating water birds in
evening.
Mar. 13. Warbling Vireo back.
