Sept. 26. Heard and saw Gray Permit Thrush. Heard Intermediate Sparrow near house. Sept. 27. James heard Golden-crowned Sparrow. I heard Golden-crowned Knights, one Ruby-cr. C. Saw two Fox Sparrows on feeding ground. Saw Vireo with very bright eye-ring and broad white wingbar. Cassin's (?) Sept. 28. Heard more Dulermediate Sparrows and Audubon Warbler. Heard Golden-crowned Sparrow several times. Thrasher very sleek - also adult S.F. Torches. Young very ragged - moulting. Sept. 29. Went to Bay Shore near 16th St. Sta. with Mrs. Schlessinger. Many sandpipers and killdeer, also Checaropes and Bonaparte's Gulls. Sept. Oct. 1. Nuttall Sparrow on railing. Jamie found deaf Permit Thrush - knew what it was. Saw woodpeckers (Willow ?) on Channing Way. Saw Audubon Warblers - numerous. Oct. 9. Have heard Golden-crowned Knights frequently during past week.
