1915 Sept.15 went down to bay shore - thousands of shore birds, mainly sandpipers (Red-backed and E mauris) came all about me as I sat on Sever Conduit near 16th St. Station. Sept.16. at 10 A.M saw from dining room window at one time S.F. Torhee on railing, Cal. Torhee on ground, Song Sp. on railing, Russet b. Thrush on drinking fountain, Western Flycatcher in bush, White-crowned Sparrow on ground. Sept.24. Saw Flicker at drinking fountain. Heard and saw R.C. Kinglet at 2:30 P.M. Heard Intermediate Sparrow from near dairy. Saw 3 R.b. Thrushes near fountain. Sept.25. Went to Bay Farm, Deland with Mrs. Meade & her children and Mr. Schlessinger - Saw following: 1 Brown Blackbirds - hundreds - 2 Bluejay - heard out at Alameda shore- 3 Meadow Lark - Saw 30 or more- 4 Eng. Sparrow, near Alameda shore at farm- 5 Killdeer - numerous -
