May 16. 9:30-12 (contin) Song Sparrows, 1 single bird, 1 with young. Bush-tits - 1# nest empty (built in March) 2 birds feeding with young. Wrentits - Heard 3 birds - Thrushes (Russet-backed) - Heard one, Anna Hummingbird - Two birds - one of which seems to be a bird of the year. Hutton Vireo - heard one - singing. Titmouse - heard one - singing Cal. Quail - Flushed one single, one pair up near path, one pair near Canyon Road. Western Flycatcher - Heard one. (3) zigzagged through woodlaid below Canyon Road, from fence off Mr. Stratton's to Swimming Pool and down to Creek. Found following birds:
