May 8. Went out to Mt. View Cemetery.
Saw Allen Hummingbird trying
to drive away large lizard from
nest in a rose bush. Two tiny
birds in the nest - little brown
fuzzy balls.
May 14. Went on picnic to Temescal
Lake. Prof. Buckham and family,
Mrs. Vincent and family and myself
Saw many birds - thrashers among
them. Identifies song of purple
finch.
