Trip to Yosemite from May 15 to
June 21. Began watching the
birds and with the aid of
Bird Notes Afield by Chas. Keeler
identified a few species:
Mountain Quail
1 Western Wood Peeree found building
a nest near Smith's Ranch,
May 22, 1901. We hung hairs and
parelungs of burlap on the tree
and watched the birds take them
and build them into the nest.
2 Blue Fronted Jay, Yosemite Valley.
3 Clark's Nutcracker, Clouds' Rest.
A Hocke [illegible] found feeding near
the snow line below the summit.
